School Facilities

Evatt School is a Preschool to Year 6 School

The architectural design of the school combines single classrooms and flexible teaching units. This type of design provides areas which adapt easily and quickly to the individual differences and educational needs of the students, providing facilities for individualised learning, small group teaching, large group activities and recreational needs. There are six large teaching and learning areas, seven single classrooms, a computer lab, a library resource centre, a general-purpose hall with adjacent storerooms for gymnasium gear, an Environment Centre, a sick bay and a staffroom. There are also offices for the Principal, Deputy Principal, Executive Teachers, School Psychologist and Literacy and Numeracy Field Officer.

Evatt School completed its Building the Education Revolution construction in 2010. This building contains two fully equipped classrooms, a large multipurpose area, kitchen facilities, toilets and a teachers' planning office. It also features solar panels as part of our commitment to sustainability.

Evatt School is completely enclosed - the school is fenced on all sides.

The preschool lies adjacent to the school and is also fully enclosed with a child proof lock on the gate.

Some school facilities, especially the Assembly Hall, may be hired by community groups outside of school hours. Any organisation wishing to do so should contact the Business Manager.

Assembly Hall

The Assembly Hall is used for many activities such as musicals, drama, dancing, gymnastics, lunch time games and for school assemblies.

Our grounds

The School boasts extensive grassed areas and a large oval adjacent to the rear of the school. Fixed equipment with sun shades provide for enjoyment during play periods. Our school is committed to being a sustainable, environmentally-friendly school. Our large Environment Centre includes a classroom teaching and learning area, as well as major themed garden areas such as our Indigenous Garden, Sensory Garden and vegetable beds where students learn how to take care of the environment in hands-on activities. All students have an opportunity to enjoy these facilities.

We have a Junior and Senior playground and a wonderful new sandpit, generously donated by the P&C, where students of all ages have opportunities to play imaginatively.

Our Multipurpose Court features a large, covered playing area with a basketball court and fixed seating. This facility is also available for hire by community groups.

The playground has a "maths playground area" with various counting, target and other number-based games on the bitumen. Several large water tanks allow the school to utilise the water for our garden beds as part of our Community Water Grant.

Our recently refurbished canteen provides an important service to our school community by supplying nutritious food at affordable prices. It is currently open on Thursdays and Fridays.
