Evatt is a WASTE WISE School
We have become an officially accredited WASTE WISE school.
In 2006 we successfully trialled the Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative and celebrated with the Minister of Education at the Botanical Gardens.
This page has been created by our year 5 and year 6 students.
It is important to recycle water, especially in droughts. At Evatt we have one large water tank and two small water tanks.
Our large water tank holds up to 2700 liters of water and our small water tanks can hold up to 300 liters of water.
We use water from our tanks not the taps!
We love growing fruit and vegetables.
When it is ready we sell it at school.
All the money we raise is spent on the Environment Centre.
It is important to compost our food scraps.
We use the compost to produce great soil for our gardens.
Each class has their own recycling and compost bucket.
Everyday we collect each classrooms waste and put it into our compost bins or recycling bins.
At Evatt we recycle to ensure a brighter future for the next generation!
