HERBY'S SCHOOL TOUR
Front Office
Step right in! My name's Herby and I'm the Evatt mascot. I'm going to take you around our beautiful school. First we'll start at the front office. The front office people are very kind and helpful.
Room 10
You are now looking at the Kindergarten classroom. This room is very colourful and decorative. You'll find many students helping each other in a cooperative environment. The students show respect to their teachers and are always smiling. The 'rainforest' area outside the classroom is where the children enjoy eating together.

Room 9
We are viewing room 9 which accommodates our Year 4 group. This double classroom includes a central meeting area, wet areas for art and science technology, as well as internal toilets.

Reading Room
Now we are visiting the reading room. In this room the students learn to read with the parents/carers/grandparents and senior cross-age tutors. They enjoy reading with the helpers and are improving every day. The wide variety of books ensures that all interests and reading levels are well catered for in the room.

LA Room
This wonderful room here is the LA (Learning Assistance) room. Here specialised teachers help children who require extra support with Literacy and / or Numeracy.

LSU Room
Here we are in the newly furnished LSU (Learning Support Unit). This year we have eight wonderful students in this classroom. The spacious room provides plenty of opportunities for identified students to have explicit teaching from a specialist teacher and an assistant.

Hall
The hall we are entering now is used for assemblies, concerts, fairs, gym classes, musicals, art shows, community performances, discos and the Year 6 farewell dinner and graduation assemblies.

Foyer
Colourful, creative and educative displays in our foyer and corridoors celebrate our learning achievements.

Canteen
The canteen is open Tuesday-Friday each week. The canteen manager works closely with staff to link the menu with special celebration days. The canteen service is provided by an outside company called Food on the Run.

Cooking Room / Quiet Room / After School Care Program
This room serves as a multi-purpose room. It caters for cooking, science, art and other activities e.g. meeting place for student organisations, as well as for the After School Care Program. The After School Care Program is provided by Belconnen Community Services.

Room 19
This is another room that accommodates our junior students.

The computers have educational games as well as Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Publisher and other wonderful programs. Each class has a timetabled lesson weekly. In addition the lab is accessible as required by classes.

There is plenty of other information to read. Otherwise, you are welcome to visit the School for a real tour by one of our many friendly staff.
